Bayley’s Magnificent Impact on the WWE Women’s Division
Bayley, one of the four horsewomen within the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), has had an incredible 2022 run. She has delivered some remarkable matches and promos since returning in July of 2022 from an ACL injury. The former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion has been feuding with Becky Lynch over the past couple of weeks.
Bayley and Lynch went one-on-one during the Dec. 19th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw. Both superstars delivered an incredible performance and managed to showcase their magnificent chemistry with one another.
Prior to their match, Lynch delivered a backstage promo and highlighted how she wanted to face the best version of Bayley. Both superstars exhibited their technical wrestling maneuvers and managed to tell an intriguing story within their match.
Bayley was determined to prove to Lynch that she currently is the best version of herself. Bayley, the leader of Damage CTRL, had her two stablemates and the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky, at ringside during her match.
Due to their constant interferences, the referee ejected both Kai and Sky from ringside. As Sky was distracting the referee while walking away from ringside, Bayley hit Lynch with a monitor and followed by delivering her finishing move — Roseplant.
Bayley picked up a significant victory over Lynch. Since her shocking return at this year’s WWE SummerSlam, Bayley has lost many of the big matches that she has been featured in. However, she has been able to successfully elevate her opponents by making them look stronger to the WWE audience.
For example, she has lost to the current WWE Raw Women’s World Champion, Bianca Belair, multiple times in some incredibly entertaining matches that were featured in some of the pay-per-view events that WWE has produced this year, such as WWE Crown Jewel and WWE Extreme Rules. Belair looked strong in many of their matches and proved to the audience that she deserves to be the current world champion. Although Bayley has lost multiple times to Belair this year, she has still been booked as a serious title contender and a great leader of Damage CTRL.
Even when she is victorious, Bayley has managed to make her opponents look strong. She has had competitive matches with Aliyah, Alexa Bliss, and Shotzi this year. Bayley does a strong job of selling the moves that each of her opponents deliver during a match or segment. Also, Bayley has managed to effectively introduce the WWE audience to Kai and Sky by highlighting their experience and skills through her promo work.
In short, Bayley has done an incredible job since returning from her injury. Over the years, she has consistently been able to prove that she is one of the best and entertaining female wrestlers within the WWE. However, this version of Bayley is currently doing some tremendous work and playing a significant role in elevating the current women’s division.
